Why is skin exfoliation important

Skin exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It is important for several reasons:

Improves skin texture: Exfoliating helps to smooth and soften the skin, giving it a more even and radiant appearance.

Unclogs pores: Dead skin cells and oil can accumulate in pores, leading to blackheads, whiteheads, and acne. Exfoliating helps to remove these impurities and keep pores clear.

Increases cell turnover: Exfoliating stimulates the skin's natural cell turnover process, which can improve the overall health and appearance of the skin.

Enhances the efficacy of other products: When dead cells accumulate on the skin surface, they can prevent other skincare products like moisturizers, serums and facial oil to penetrate effectively, thus exfoliating help these product to work better on the skin.

Promotes circulation: Exfoliating can increase blood flow to the skin, which can improve skin tone and give the skin a healthy glow.

It's important to remember that over-exfoliation can cause irritation, redness and dryness, so it's important to exfoliate gently and not to overdo it. Also, it's recommended to exfoliate not more than 2-3 times a week, depending on your skin type.
