what are different types of acne

There are several types of acne, including:

Whiteheads: These are small, raised bumps that form when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells.

Blackheads: These are small, dark spots that form when oil and dead skin cells accumulate in hair follicles. Despite their name, blackheads are not caused by dirt and are not necessarily a sign of poor hygiene.

Papules: These are small, red, raised bumps that form when hair follicles become inflamed.

Pustules: These are similar to papules but contain pus, which makes them appear white or yellow in color.

Cysts: These are large, painful, pus-filled lumps that form deep within the skin. Cysts are a more severe form of acne and can lead to scarring if left untreated.

Nodules: These are also large, painful lumps that form deep within the skin. Nodules are similar to cysts but do not contain pus.

Acne can occur anywhere on the body, but it most commonly appears on the face, neck, chest, and back. The severity of acne can vary from mild to severe, and treatment options depend on the type and severity of acne.
